재능 십일조

저는 개인적으로 '재능기부'라는 말에 그리 공감하는 사람은 아닙니다. 하지만 재능기부를 사랑하는 사람이기도 합니다. 재능기부라는 말을 재능착취라고 악용할때는 정말 싫어하지만, 아름다운 일에 쓰일 때는 제가 직접나서서 참여하기도 합니다. 교회에서 십일조를 하듯이 저도 저의 재능 십일조를 하겠다고 마음먹고 뜻이 있을때 참여하고 있습니다. 재능기부라는 단어를 사용해서 생계를 책임지고 힘들게 살아가는 아티스트들 절대 악용하지 마십시오 여러분! 아티스트의 재능은 나누면 힘이 되는 아름다운 기부가 되지만 착취되면 회사원의 임금을 빼앗는 일과 같습니다.....

말은  여기까지 하고 ㅋㅋㅋ

저는 도자기도 열심히 만들지만 디자인, 일러스트, 파인아트 등 두루두루 관심이 많아서 다양한 콜로보레이션과 일에 참여하고 있어요~ 특별히 사회적 기업, 디자인에 관심이 많은데, 영국에서 다니는 꿈이 있는 교회에서 인연이 닿아서 참여하게 된 소셜벤처 경연대회 멘토링 캠프에 디자이너로 참여했습니다. 한국에 방문하면서 이것저것 참 잘도 다니죠 ㅋㅋ 쉬려고 왔더니 쉬지도 못하고 전 왜그러나요 ㅋ

MYSC  (Merry Year Social Company)의 주최로 이루어진 행사에 Jiwon Jung 작가와 함께 쇼설 벤처 기업을 창업하시는 분들의 아이디어 시각화 작업을 맡았답니다. 

1박 2일 밤새서 너무 피곤하기도 했지만 저도 정말 많이 배우고, 불끈 불끈 힘이 솟는 행사였어요. 더 큰 꿈을 생각하기도 했구요. 이러한 기회 주신 하나님께 감사가 샘솟는 시간이었답니다. 그럼 사진 막 나갑니다~~~~~

소셜 벤처 사업이 이렇게 한국에서 급성장하고 있을 줄이야 생각도 못했는데,

많은 아름다운 사람들이 아름다운 생각을 하고 있다고 느끼니 마음이 훈훈합니다.

Sun Ae Kim is a creative thinker and a contemporary storyteller using ceramics. She started to study on ceramics in the Hong-ik University in Korea and focus on the18^th century’s English and European ceramics at the school of the applied art in RCA.

She was interested in creating narratives using contemporary satirical stories found in ceramics, whilst referring to European Figurines from the 18th and 19th century. In particular her interest in european figurines which were purposely used for striking a conversation during mealtime at the dinner table was predominantly explored into her works.

After leaving the RCA, She co-founded the Studio Manifold, a group of nine artists and designers whose practice grew up alongside each other within the ceramics and glass studio at the Royal College of Art.

Sun Ae collaborated with the Alexander McQueen for the Paris Fashion Week 2011/12 and exhibited her works in UK and worldwide including the Orange County Centre for Contemporary Art in LA and the Palais de Tokyo and Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris.

Sun Ae also teaches ceramics from young people to adult through her workshops and classes widely in London.
